High standard
One Albert Quay is the most significant new office development in Cork city centre in recent years. The building provides 15,835 m² of high quality sustainable ‘Grade A’ office space, with an attractive glazed facade over seven storeys and is designed to meet Gold ‘LEED’ standards. It is situated on a unique waterfront location with impressive views of the city centre; it is at a transitional point between the City Centre and the ambitious vision of the South Docks.
With this high standard in mind, Henry J Lyons Architects specified Vogl Ceilings of Germany for some of the critical acoustic and design elements within the building. With its fine engineering tradition Vogl produce quality German made solutions for high end design, acoustics, climate control and lighting solutions.

Vogl Acoustic Design Boards and VoglFalt-Fix
In One Albert Quay, Vogl Toptec was used to give a “Class A” rated acoustic ceiling and was mixed together with Vogl Acoustic Design Boards and VoglFalt-Fix to enhance the visual design aspect. With occupants which include International consulting engineers ARUP, it was all the more essential to meet the balance of design and performance and this was indeed achieved by Vogl.
The very prominent nature of this landmark building on the river Lee’s south quays required that all the material elements and the scale of circulation spaces are all of the highest design quality.
This high quality treatment used throughout the fitout of development ensures a cohesive design layout that balances the defined requirements with the explicit urban design characteristics and the high quality of modern building. The result has ensured a sustainable and attractive city centre development for the city of Cork.
