The Otto Group campus in Hamburg is a striking example of contemporary urban architecture with high functional and technical quality. Building 10 on the site was originally constructed in 1979 as the main building with nine floors for open-plan offices and a representative executive area.

During the necessary fire safety upgrades, the entire technical building equipment and interior fittings of the building were to be comprehensively renovated and adapted to contemporary requirements. To this end, a room concept was developed for the existing offices and executive areas that combines the identity of the company with spatial psychological factors.
This spatial concept is characterised by carefully selected colour and light highlights. It supports employees both during concentration and contemplation as well as during communication, thus providing a supportive environment for a wide variety of situations in everyday working life.

Combining design and technology with acoustic design ceilings featuring heating and cooling functions

The meticulously planned drywall construction is an essential component of the interior design.
A heating and cooling ceiling system from Lindner was used for the ceiling construction, which meets both functional requirements of TGA integration and design aspects. The suspended ceilings were fitted with high-quality acoustic design panels from Vogl Deckensysteme in Emskirchen – mostly perforated, often also as colourful eye-catchers – to ensure optimal room acoustic conditions in the office and meeting areas.

With its campus, the Otto Group is making an important contribution to high-quality urban development in eastern Hamburg. The combination of design discipline, technical detailing and sustainable execution makes the area an exemplary reference project in the field of inner-city mixed-use ensembles. The close integration of architecture, interior design and building technology shows how complex requirements for functionality, aesthetics and sustainability can be combined in clearly structured buildings.
